Qasim Baig a Muslim in his 50’s claims he was attacked while travelling on a bus in the Canadian city of Vancouver. The alleged attack took place on the evening of July 29th when Mr. Baig was travelling on the number 25:

“In a phone interview with the Georgia Straight, Qasim Baig said that he boarded the UBC-Brentwood Station number 25 bus at 7:45 p.m. yesterday (July 29). He said he was wearing a white Muslim cap and white robes when a passenger at the back of the bus started shouting expletives and accusing him of being a supporter of Osama bin Laden.

As Baig started to take a seat, he said the man socked him in the head, shouting, “You are bin Laden Muslims.”

“He just threw a big heavy punch on my left eye,” Baig said. “I was totally lost. I was not ready for anything. All the other passengers were shocked–they were wondering what happened.”

Baig, 59, is 5′3″ and has had heart bypass surgery. He said he is also a diabetic with a lung condition. He described his assailant as “quite strong”, 40 to 45 years old, and about 5′10“. {Source: Straight.com}
