Two teenaged neo-Nazi Germans were sent to prison for 45 months and 56 months respectively today. The sentence was passed after the two were found guilty of arson attacks directed at Muslim families in Germany.

Although no one was hurt in the attacks the trial judge said the perpetrators were a disgrace to the German country.

The aim of the crimes was to terrorise, cause fear and to drive the Muslim community out of Berlin :

“Two school pupils, aged 17 and 19, were sent to prison Wednesday in Germany for anti-Muslim attacks on homes. “They are a disgrace to our country,” said judge Kai Dieckmann as he jailed the younger for 46 months and the older for 56 months after convicting them of attempted murder. No one was hurt in the attacks.

In one of the racist attacks last spring, a Turkish householder found a tent in his suburban Berlin garden on fire and put out the flames. In the other attack, a lighted object was thrown at a Bosnian family’s house.

The families were left frightened by the attacks, which the court said had been aimed at driving them out of Berlin. Prosecutors said the two young males were intent on spreading fear out of neo-Nazi motives.” (Source: Earth Times)
