Hate is a terrible thing but it is all the more terrible when directed at a person or people who in no way deserve to be recipients of it.
In this news report from Harris County, Texas we see how hatred of Islam lead to Police officers unfairly targeting a family of Sikhs.
“The story begins on Thanksgiving weekend when the Tagore family realised that they had been burgled. They called the local police only to be accused of being Muslims and some how connected to “the bombings in Bombay”:
“At the beginning of the Thanksgiving weekend, the Tagore family came home to find a window broken and their master bedroom ransacked. When they called 911 to report the crime, Harris County police officers were dispatched to investigate. But instead of pursuing the thieves, the
police officers began grilling a family member. Officers ordered Ms. Kawaljeet Kaur to hand over her kirpan — a religious article mandated by the Sikh faith — which she wore over her shoulder. Ms. Kaur offered to leave the room if her kirpan made the officers uncomfortable, but to no avail.
Instead, she, along with her brother, mother and cousin, were handcuffed and led into the street. Officers verbally abused them as they were searched. An officer applied pressure to Ms. Kaur’s back as she sat on the ground. One officer asked the family whether they had “heard about the bombings in Bombay” while another told them that he “knew about Muslims.”
Hours later, the entire family was released without being arrested or charged.
“How can the police stop us from practicing our religion in our own home?” asked Ms. Kaur. “We called the police to help us. Instead, they humiliated and harassed us. They handcuffed my 60-year-old mother in front of my 8-year-old niece. They think they can get away with it because we look different.” (Source: PR Newswire)

As for your question regarding this story let me answer it by asking you a question…. what do you think ? Do you think it is ok behaviour from the police if they really were Muslims ?

This is in no way acceptable behavior on the part of the police but reflects the brain washing that has taken place in this country since 9-11. For years we have heard in the media and from the government that to question government actions was somehow ‘unpatriotic’. These officers were in their minds being ‘good Americans’. This is being done in the on going Zionization of this once wonderful country, where soon it will be forbidden to speak against Zionists but perfectly acceptable to speak ill of all other religions. We only became so intolerant when the Zionists took over our government. On behalf of the unbrainwashed portion of America I offer sincere apologies.

a terrible thing, if indeed true. my concern is the sourcing of the story. ive never heard of the news service you used, and i’ve not (as of yet) been able to find a coroberating story.
not that this type of behavior would suprise me or fail to earn my condemnation, but a lot of roumers are started which cause as much hate as there are truths which do the same.

It is a shame when people are PROUD of being stupid. USA USA USA. The mindless chant of slaves. The other shame is, these morons think they are CHRISTIANS. How Jesus must groan when he looks down on them. I hope the Tagore family sues these morons for everything they have. Bush supporters use their PSEUDO-patriotism as a cover for STUPID. Remember how the CHINESE factories were working 24/7 after 9/11 because the PSEUDO-patriots had to run out and BUY American flags?

Firstly I would like to welcome all of the above for visting my blog and secondly for sharing their thoughts.
Strawman please do not feel that you have to offer an apology. This weblog is not aimed at good/fair minded people in the west. It is however aimed at those bigots incite against all Muslims and wish to see them all come to harm.
Dr. Dan I to certain extent I do not blame these people I feel sorry for them. One must be really sick in the mind or just plain ignorant not to know the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim.

First allow me to extend my sympathies to the tagore family and also to all the families who suffered and are suffering from the recent Mumbai attacks. The America that this act represents is NOT the America of our founding fathers. They wanted a nation of peace and equality for all.
Other countries have even honored that vision in the past. We were so loved by Frane, that they built and sent the Statue of liberty to us in recognition of our ideals.
Sadly, she no longer represents anything. We have sadly become a nation of paranoid haters very similar to the dark Stalin days of the USSR. The smile of friendship and the joy of welcoming newcomers have gone and we are left with a nation of fearful, ignorant people who hate first and ask questions later. I’m afraid that our version of the Soviet gulags has already started to take shape.
