A Mosque, A Pigs Head Of A Story And A “Tolerant” Westerner

NBC5.com and 7 News Boston report that a “tolerant” westerner threw the severed head of a pig into a congregation of praying Muslims at a mosque in Lewiston, Maine. The incident took place on Monday night while the congregation was in worship.
Mr. Brent Matthews aged 33 of Lewiston has been arrested by the police over the incident and told officers he did it for a “joke”.
Personally I do not know whether to believe him or not. On the face of it I am inclined to accept his explanation due to the fact that there are a lot of stupid people in this world. As a human being I can never account for the depths to which human intellect can fall.
Having said that in the current climate there is just a small thought in the back of my mind which tells me this might be more sinister than he claims. There maybe more to this incident than just playing a school-boy prank after all he is 33 years old and by his age in life he should know better.
On the other hand it was the 4th of July on Tuesday maybe he had a little too much of the “good stuff” to drink or inject or inhale in preperation of the holiday and thought he was back in the Boston Tea Party attacking the British with a pig’s head.
I suppose I will never know for sure.
We live in ominous times.

Right you are, Nomad, and quite a few of them live in America. It may have been the booze/drugs, or he may just be a dolt.
